WONTECH Receives KFDA for PICOCARE450, Picosecond Laser
The 1st Korean Laser Device Company to Satisfy 450 Picosecond Level
Confident to Compete with the World’s Leading Brands
Seoul, Korea, November 8, 2016 – WONTECH Co., Ltd. (KONEX), a leader in aesthetic laser and energy-based medical devices, has announced on 31st of October, 2016 that PICOCARE 450, of which is based on picosecond laser, has gotten a manufacturing license from Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), and it will be on sale. It’ll be the 1st among Korean companies to be licensed by MFDS as 450 picosecond laser, and will not just compete domestically, but will compete in performance with the global leading brands.
Picosecond is one trillionth of a second and refers to the time span of the laser pulse. Laser energy delivered in an ultra-short (Picosecond – range) energy pulse procedures an unprecedented effect on the skin, which results in removal of excessive skin pigmentation as well as minimize the damage to the surrounding tissue, especially, for tattoo removal, melasma, freckles, Ota nevus, and pigmented lesions such as removing blemishes, also picosecond laser is characterized by excellent performance, even for the pico laser toning.
Because of these advantages, there are increasing demands for picosecond lasers in recent market, and the world’s leading aesthetic laser companies are also focusing on development of the picosecond laser.
On the other hand, companies which own 450 picosecond laser may be referred to as having a high technology; therefore, only a few companies over the world have 450 picosecond laser.
PICOCARE with 450 picosecond has KFDA, and showed a technology that is feat of the world best.
WONTECH Chairman, Jong Won Kim said in recent interview, “In some hospitals there are no significant differences between the nanosecond laser and picosecond laser. I know there is a rather distrust about picosecond laser; however, from the measured data of accredited testing institute proved to be confident about the performance.
The measurement device for picosecond is well-known as the high-priced device complicated and difficult to measure picosecond due to its short pulse duration. WONTECH has taken various strict tests from the agency designated as medical device testing certification agency designated by MFDS, and has been recognized for the high performance of its products and has acquired the medical device manufacture item license from MFDS.
WONTECH CEO, Jung Hyun Kim emphasizes on the versatile PICOCARE that can perform various wavelengths such as 1064nm & 532nm, 585nm, 595nm, and 660nm. “This can remove various tattoos with fewer treatments and have the outstanding efficacy for laser toning, flush treatment, and skin-regeneration.
